According to this article it seems like everyone is lying in the workplace about insignificant things as well. If workers are lying then what makes people trust the product that companies are selling. We tend to believe anything people say.

I think that a lot of people nowadays dont realize what telling the truth can do for them. I mean you can lie to an employer for a little, but with the new research companies do on new hires your eventually going to get caught.
It also makes it harder for the people who are honest in interviews and resumes. We all may stretch the truth a little, but to straight up lie about attending college or getting a degree is outright wrong.
