this site explains how wal-mart really is. Even though wal-mart is very successful, i still think the economy should regulate on multi-billion dollar companies like this. i know we live in a free market, but not everything can be free. allowing wal-mart to come into small towns and run every other store out of business hurts alot of people and destroys that areas economy. what do you guys think?

I think its terrible that so many Americans are employed by this billion dollar corporation and are paid only around $9 an hour. Thats less than $400 a week. Making only that they are pretty much forced to shop at Wal-Mart to be able to afford anything. We dont have to shop there but it is so so convenient to find anything and everything you need under one roof. I think its terrible what they are doing like depleting the free market in cities but I think Americans are always going to shop there because of our need for effeciency and timeliness. Everything at Walmart is cheap and we can get in and get out and move on wiht our day....
Kerastel - Get in and get out? Apparently you have never been to the Wal-mart in surfside! (vomit)
So I have only filed one corporate complaint in my entire life, and it was to the lovely wal-mart corporation. We will make the story simple, I ordered a cake and it wasn't exactly what I wanted so the lady working the cake department went completely out of her way to make the cake perfect for me. I was so pleased and thankful for her help that I tried to give her a tip. Now, I know that they do not work for tips but I wanted to thank her for her hard work. She said "I cannot take that." Thinking she was just trying to be polite I INSISTED that she take it. Then, she told me that it is against wal-mart's policy to accept a tip from a customer and that she would lose her job. I was so angry that I wrote them an e-mail and told them they had absolutely no right to tell me what I should do with my money. How exactly would anyone benefit from a policy like this?
This is also an interesting article about our friendly neighborhood wal-mart.

I agree with much of what the writer of the article says. It really is up to us as Americans to not shop at Wal-Mart and support their conduct. The best thing to do is support the small businesses in our communities...and buy American-made goods. I make it a point to boycott Wal-Mart, and while I'm not perfect, I sure manage to shop there only a maximum of once every two months.
